Tara Doyle has been dancing since the age of 5. She began her career
by taking private jazz-dance lessons and went on to dance in shows
with the group The Starlight Stripers. From there, she joined a tap/jazz
combo team at Branham Dance Center in San Jose and also began
dancing professionally with Fandango, a professional ballet folklorico
group. Tara danced with Branham Dance Center and with Fandango for
over ten years.
Four years ago, she moved to the East Bay and began taking tap
classes with Debbie Sternbach at The Beat in Berkeley. Tara has been
a member of B.A.R.T. since its inception, performing at special events,
fundraisers and choreographers' showcases. Most recently, she
appeared in a show celebrating National Dance Week, produced by
Leslie Friedman and the Lively Foundation. When asked how she feels
about tap, Tara replies: “My heart beats to the rhythm of shuf-fle, shuf-fle,
shuf-fle, shuf-fle.” In May of this year, Tara achieved her personal best by
competing in a triathlon. When she's not tapping, you can find Tara
enjoying the outdoors or cheering for the Oakland A's.
